Although I think some of the article does have some merit, all the examples you purpose are very specific and can be changed with no more than a few lines of code. What happens if the client, which has happened to me more times than I care to remember, shows an example of a site that he thinks would work better and therefore requires you change the entire layout? Working within the browser at that point would be time a major time consumer. Also as many people have already mentioned CSS3 is not widely supported, so if your client isn’t using a new browser that process won’t work.

I love the fact that Dan is pushing the envelope but
For now I think I’ll stick to Photoshop.
