I know you mentioned IE in your article, but the problem with these mockups is IE is exactly what most clients are going to see your mockup in. Maybe you can ask your client to only view her site at your office, or install a new browser at home, but that’s not a luxury everyone can afford. So you might be showing your client fancy rounded borders and orange backgrounds as requested, but she sees only drab white squares, no baskerville ampersand, nothing.

That’s one benefit of a JPG/PNG mockup – platform independence. It doesn’t matter what OS or browser your client uses, if they’re asking you for a website they can open a JPG.
