Good analogy! I can see that many people starting off as freelancers or setting up their own agency will find it difficult to find that position and may well be in a situation where they cannot afford to turn away business if things are too quiet.

Another very useful article. Great negotiating tips, after all for a freelancer it’s crucial to learn the principles of selling. Mastering these principles and getting the client to sign the contract with a good feeling is the half of the job and than it’s up to you(me) to keep that feeling till the job is done and further…

However sometimes, just as you say, it’s better to move on. The hard part is to recognize those situations (selling skills again :))
