@Dan: Fun, but I’m gonna have to disagree there Batman.

Heath Ledger is ‘content’, not presentation. Without Ledger, the meaning (ie: the performance) of Joker is totally different. The Dark Knight isn’t The Dark Knight without Ledger. That is not what “Sites don’t need to look the same in every browser” is about.

It’s perfectly fine for a movie to look different on different TVs — they do anyway. Colour saturation will be different, sound quality too. Maybe you get additional special features on a DVD by playing it on a more modern DVD player? That is OK too.

What wouldn’t be acceptable would be somehow excluding people from accessing the movie (even in black-and-white and with mono sound).

And don’t get me bloody started on the UK analogue TV switch-off ;)
