Heath Ledger is ‘content’, not presentation. Without Ledger, the meaning (ie: the performance) of Joker is totally different. The Dark Knight isn’t The Dark Knight without Ledger. That is not what â€œSites donâ€™t need to look the same in every browserâ€ is about.
It’s perfectly fine for a movie to look different on different TVs â€” they do anyway. Colour saturation will be different, sound quality too. Maybe you get additional special features on a DVD by playing it on a more modern DVD player? That is OK too.
What wouldn’t be acceptable would be somehow excluding people from accessing the movie (even in black-and-white and with mono sound).
And don’t get me bloody started on the UK analogue TV switch-off ;)
