When I first looked into copying the Flickr experience I found this edit in place function, but it didn’t have the AJAX element. In the end I made it up myself, it works, but probably not as well as this. As for XML and innerHTML. FF1.5 now supports it when sending pages as XML. Good or bad, I haven’t yet decided.
