This is a nice list with some good ideas, particularly font-size-adjust, calc() and variables.
I’d like to add, and reiterate JulienW’s comment: vertical alignment vertical alignment vertical alignment vertical alignment! I just can’t believe we are still having to contort ourselves so hideously just to get some vertical centering going on.
