I just read this and I am doing the full degrade nicely thing for my current app I am designing.

It was highlighted to me by my senior that I should start to do my mock ups in HTML and leave Photoshop behind, thats quite difficult I have to admit but I do agree actually building and ideas seems the way forward in a lot of cases.
