I don’t know. I don’t think there is either a right or wrong way to do it. For me, it depends on the design of the site. If it’s minimalistic with hardly any graphics, then I just code it up. But if it’s graphic intensive, I can’t imagine how I would be able to not do it in Photoshop first. Sometimes it’s not just about either boxes or rounded corners, especially if you want to have some elements breaking out of the grid and other fun things like that.
Anyhow, I think the real problem here is Photoshop. Photoshop just isn’t ideal for doing web design for many reasons. What I’d like to see, is a company come out with a real tool for doing web site layouts and design. Now, that would be awesome.
