Is Direct2D/DirectWrite text rendering going to help?

It’s going to be used for text rendering in IE9 , and there is already a development build for Firefox.

Text looks nice and smooth, more legible, without being as heavy as Apple.

Of course – I’m already looking to IE9 for answers, and I think you will need at least Vista SP2…
