What I’m finding confusing is the direction CSS is taking. I was always lead to believe that HTML is for markup, CSS for styling and Javascript for Events. The often stated reason for the target attribute being deprecated in HTML is because it’s an event
I just wonder if CSS is the correct place to define animations, transitions etc. This sort of thing (including hover events) seems much more manageable using a scripting language with access to the DOM
