For a user who is viewing the site on different machines, such as at work and at home, it is easy to see how confusion can result when suddenly a familiar element of the UI has changed.
Chris, but you are getting that now with Safari and input type=“submit”. Which is controlled right down to the text size.
The argument for is everybody using Safari knows that is a submit “button”. Argument against it is leaves no options for the website designer or user to style, not cross browser compatible, (use any other browser and the “button” looks very different) and limited options to resize by user.
