I’ve been fascinated by html style guides for a while and not just as a tool for documentation. I often build one as one of my first tasks when designing a site. I’ve found that it’s a nice place to start making aesthetic decisions about the markup and content, before I get too deep into decorating the page.
To that end I built a system I call the Survival Kit, which helps you make these in the context of designing in the browser.
