I really like the article for making clear that media queries are not (or not necessarily) the weapon of choice when making a mobile site and for providing many useful tips.
What I dislike is the paragraph about scaling. I’m with Rob and Ben. It’s really annoying for me on many so-called “mobile-optimized” websites to not being able to zoom.
A mobile site is not an app, I’m still in Safari where I’m used to use pinch-zoom, if the text is too small to read, or to quickly scale images.
It’s not the designer’s task to take away functionality ( even if he/she then carefully guess what might be a readable font-size for me).
