First: why photoshopbashing, maybe you have some crashed fonts installed. PS works for me whole the year, day by day.
Second: 37signals posted some months ago the same idea as you. Shure, if your webdesigns finished looking like mockups, go ahead and “designing” with floating and bordering in CSS. But remember: there are different kind of designs and I think today the most of them (80%) started in photoshop.
But: I agree, PS isn’t the perfect tool to make webdesign (and Fireworks is a ugly Macromedia child). I hope Adobe will do something for us webdesignes – quick.
