Top notch article, Meagan. And then there was my two cents:
This process may work for some, but I don’t think I’m there yet. For more complex design it is time consuming if not downright difficult to comp in good ol’ HTML and CSS. And if the client doesn’t approve of the glorious innovative design direction, precious time and money has been wasted on code when Photoshop can produce something many times more quickly.
What I have longed for is an intermediary step between Photoshop and the browser. Something that acts and behaves like a browser, but is built for rapid composition and is much more flexible. What web designers need is their own version of InDesign or Quark, where websites can be designed quickly for clients but avoids the drawback of working in photoshop.
