It’d be nice if we could have Hex with alpha like you can in OpenGL, etc. something like #rrggbbaa so rgb(255,255,255, 0.5) would be #ffffff80,
I agree with Drew, that you should take into consideration your audience and what browsers they use. I doubt anyone visited this site using IE6 as their preferred browser…
