Just on the Data URI part, do you mean that the Images are encoded as a literal and displayed with no further requests to the server? If so I’ve actually never heard (or imagined) such techniques being even available. Anyways, I’m just wondering how wide support for these are since I have a feeling that we won’t get that lucky with them.
