Great tips in your article Jeremy. All developers/product managers should consider implementing an offline page like you have described. As a user one of the most frustrating things, is regardless of the reason, a webpage not loading at all. Our attention span and patience for things not working is close to non-existent so having that feedback via the offline page will ease that frustration and anxiety and ensure a positive experience for your visitors. often all we are looking for is something explaining what is going on.
