Every XHTML doctype (without the xml prolog declaration makes browsers display in standards mode. However, only Strict HTML does the same. But this reason isnâ€™t a reason to use XHTML.
Wrong ;). IE will use “standards” mode with Transitional and Frameset DTDs too, if URL of DTD is present .
The same applies to the Opera .
Things are a bit more complicated with Gecko and its three modes .
