I may be wrong, but I’ve heard rumor that Fireworks was supposed to fill this intermediate gap? It has rollover effect capability, it’s easy to switch colors, change sizes, and move layers around. Generally I’ve just seen it used for creating streamlined PNGs and GIFs for the web, well, Photoshop can do that so are we using it correctly?
